Stephen E. Kohn is a management coach, author, leadership skills trainer, teacher, and licensed clinician in private practice. After a professional career that spanned close to three decades, Mr. Kohn founded his own company, Health & EAP Resources, and a subsidiary, Work & People Solutions, both headquartered in White Plains, NY. Health & EAP Resources, Inc. focuses on providing Employee Assistance services, crisis management, and wellness training in the workplace. Work & People Solutions specializes in leadership training, psychological assessment tools, 1:1 executive coaching, and senior management consultations dedicated to improving the people management culture within the organization. He has appeared frequently on local and national radio and television, commenting on contemporary management issues in the workplace.
Mr. Kohn is the co-author of 6 Habits of Highly Effective Bosses, a renowned business book for managers and supervisors about how to improve people management competencies and achieve leadership success. The book has been translated to six foreign languages and is distributed internationally by domestic publishing houses in Korea, Poland, Russia, Australia, Spain, China, and several African countries. Mr. Kohn is on the adjunct faculty at the M.B.A. Program at the Westchester Graduate Campus of Long Island University. There, he has taught a course on Work, People, and Productivity since 2005. His firm’s corporate clients include Ernst & Young, BMW, DuPont, The Guardian Life Insurance Company, Warner Chilcott Labs, and IBM. Mr. Kohn is a graduate of Cornell University, Class of 1980, and the Adelphi University Graduate Social Work program (1983).
Vincent O’Connell is a Senior Partner for Work and People Solutions. Mr. O’Connell is Director of Assessment and Training Services, leading the firm’s administration of 360° appraisals and training programs. In this position, Mr. O’Connell develops customized course designs and training curricula, and is the lead presenter/facilitator for Work & People Solutions’ SOLID People Management and EQ At Work Training Programs. He also leads “Train the Trainer” courses which help prepare a network of pre-screened management coaches for the role of affiliates in our EQ At Work coaching network.
Mr. O’Connell has a 25 year background in behavioral sciences and behavioral healthcare, management/ supervisory training, employee assistance counseling, human resources and communications consulting and market research/business development. He has presented training and workshops around the world in a wide variety of business audiences. He is also an expert writer and training course designer and leader. He co-authored “The People Management Formula” with Mr. Kohn. He has worked primarily in the healthcare and professional services industries, serving in senior positions at prestigious institutions such as The New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center, Value Health, Buck Consultants and the Hay Group.
